CHARACTER HISTORY Like Hector , the game's protagonist, Isaac surrendered his humanity to become the disciple of Dracula . Under Dracula's instruction he learnt the art of Devil Forgery, a forbidden art which conjurs creatures called Innocent Devils. Isaac worshipped Dracula and saw Hector as a friend and rival, until Hector betrayed Dracula's cause and was left for dead as a result. Soon after Dracula began his war on mankind, ). Isaac, still loyal to his old master's cause, blamed Dracula's demise on Hector and his betrayal. After three years, Isaac found out that Hector had survived, and plotted his revenge. He orchestrated a carefully planned witch trial which had Hector's beloved, Rosaly, burnt at the stake. The game begins as Hector, realising who is responsible, tracks down Isaac in order to avenge his beloved. Isaac challenges Hector to regain his old strength and find him. Hector, determined to kill Isaac, has to once again take up the evil Devil Forgemaster powers he left behind. Through much of "Curse of Darkness", Isaac appears and encourages Hector to regain his old strength. He tests Hector for the first time in a Boss battle in Cordova Town; a fight interrupted by Julia, Isaac's sister. Isaac flees upon her intervention. His most famous moment is towards the end of the game, when he stabs Trevor Belmont in order to attain the Belmont blood and break the seal on Dracula's Castle that was placed there in "Castlevania III". He appears behind Trevor, stabs him, kisses him on the cheek and leaves him for dead. Julia states that Isaac is "too far gone" in the insanity of Dracula's Curse to be saved. She begs Hector to kill Isaac on her behalf and to stop his suffering. Isaac plays an important part in Dracula's resurrection at the end of the game. He loses to Hector in their final showdown and lies unconscious on the floor. Hector is about to deliver the finishing blow when he realises he himself is under the influence of Dracula's Curse, and stops short of killing Isaac. Death, having disguised himself as a monk helping Hector on his travels, suddenly shows his true form and announces that a curse-afflicted Hector would have been a perfect sacrifice for resurrecting Dracula; instead he kills the unconscious Isaac and Hector faces his old master in battle. BOSS BATTLES Hector fights Isaac on two different occasions in ''Curse of Darkness''. In each battle Hector can steal an item from Isaac: in the first battle Isaac has a Devil's Vein, and in the second a Cheese. On his first battle in Cordova Town, he will fight alongside his Innocent Devil, Abel. Abel is powerful, and will obey Isaac's commands when he utters his trademark command phrase, "Kill". Isaac will use his Lance, which has some long range attacks, like his shockwave. If Abel is defeated before Isaac, then your Innocent Devil can help you against Isaac. On his second battle in Dracula's castle, he will battle by himself. But in certain moments, he will summon a random high level Innocent Devil, which will create an invincibility aura on Isaac. When the Devil is defeated, the Aura protecting Isaac will disappear. This happens 2 or 3 times. He is equipped with an energy blade, the strongest one-hand weapon available in the game. TRIVIA
