The highway's south end is near Granger in Dallas County , and its northern terminus is at an intersection with U.S. Highway 18 at the Kossuth - Hancock County line near Wesley . Cities along this route, north to south, are Corwith , Renwick , Goldfield , Eagle Grove , Webster City , Stanhope , Luther and Madrid . Iowa State Highway 17 had been known as Iowa Highway 60 until Jan. 1 , 1969 , when it was given its current desigation.
