ISBT MISSION STATEMENT ISBT majors ''study the process'' of '''''transforming fundamental Scientific Discoveries ''''' into ''''' Technological Products And Services ''''' using ''''' Business, Project, And Team Management Skills '''''. This involves foundational concepts from Systems Thinking , Physics , Computer Science , Biochemistry , Molecular Biology , Engineering , Organizational Studies , Philosophy Of Science , Semiotics , and Operations Research . ISBT PROGRAM DESIGN Common experience During the first two years of study, students enrolled in this Curriculum participate in Interdisciplinary courses covering topics that include:
ISBT concentrations Upon entering the third year of study, ISBT majors declare a Concentration within the Program in one or more of the following areas: Advanced common topics Upper-level ISBT majors take common courses in Project Management , Regulatory Affairs , and Entrepreneurship . INTERNSHIPS AND CO-OPS ISBT majors are encouraged to participate in an Internship or Co-Op . CAPSTONE PROJECT During their fourth year, ISBT majors participate in a two-semester Capstone Project of their own design. The Capstone Projects address needs of importance to the ISBT Program, La Salle University, the greater Philadelphia community, or local businesses and organizations. The Capstone Project also represents the cornerstone of a student's post-graduation Portfolio or Curriculum Vitae ; it demonstrates the culmination of the student's capacity for applied learning and value creation, at that time. If the Capstone Project is of large scope, students are encouraged to work as a team on a single project. ISBT JARGON
