Information About

Inner Religion

In the broadest sense, Inner Religion is that which is common to all religious experience, no matter what the cultural context. It is the essence of religiousness, the profound seeking from which all religions and every religious experience spring: the search for the Sacred, for the Profound, for the Unnameable that animates every living being and that lives deep within us all.

Inner Religion is also a simple spiritual practice carried out by many people around the world who find inspiration in ''Silo's Message''. First made public in 2002, ''Silo's Message'' is a three-part text comprised of the Book (''The Inner Look''), the Experience (eight ceremonies for spiritual inspiration and positive change in daily life), and the Path (a collection of reflections and suggestions on personal, interpersonal and social life). Friends are invited to meet on a weekly basis to share the Experience (Ceremonies), to interchange about their lives, and to find ways to help others in their immediate environment. Participation is completely free and open, without prerequisites or expectations; people come and go according to their interests and possibilities.

The practice of Inner Religion or Inner Religiosity, as outlined in the section on Inner Religiosity on the Silo's Message website (see "External Links" below), includes four elements:
  • Living according to the declarations made in the Ceremony of Recognition (text can be found in ''Silo's Message'', available at the official Silo's Message website - see "External Links" below)

  • Calling on the inspiration of the Inner Guide whenever appropriate

  • Participating once a week in ceremonies and meditations from ''Silo’s Message''

  • Reflecting once a month about ones internal growth in relation to life’s difficulties
