Information AboutIndiana Jones And The Emperor's Tomb |
''Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb'' is an Action Video Game developed by The Collective and published by LucasArts in 2003 featuring cover art by Drew Struzan . The game is a new adventure of fictional archeologist Indiana Jones . The story is set in 1935, just before the events of '' Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom '', and is available for PlayStation 2 , Xbox , Macintosh and Windows . PLOT ''Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb'' begins in Ceylon where Dr. Jones is searching for the idol of Kouru Watu in the ruins of an ancient city. He acquires the piece after outsmarting an enormous albino Crocodile but almost loses it to a Nazi , Albrecht Von Beck, who is revealed through dialogue and the game's manual to have been stalking Jones prior to the game's opening. After demanding the idol at gunpoint, Indy hands it over before punching Von Beck, disarming him, dealing with his henchmen, and tossing the Nazi into the water with the waiting crocodile. The crocodile snaps Von Beck in its jaws and Indiana walks calmly out of the temple, idol in hand. Now back at school, Dr. Jones is visited by Marshall Kai Ti Chan, an official in the Chinese government, and his assistant Mei-Ying. They tell him about The Heart of the Dragon, an enormous and flawless black pearl buried with the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi , and that evil forces are trying to steal it. Jones decides to go for the item (and the glory of being the first man in the history of the world to enter the tomb) and is given his first assignment: to find the two remaining pieces of The Mirror of Dreams (the first having been secreted inside the idol he earlier recovered; Mei-Ying breaks said idol, releasing the first piece of the mirror) that will help him navigate through the Emperor's Tomb. Indy next takes off to a large castle in Prague where Jones sees that the Nazis have already sent many agents to find the second piece. During his trip Indy comes into contact with a mysterious female Ninja, though he thinks little of it. He continues to battle Nazis, solves many puzzles and traps of the castle's former owner, an astologer. He finally faces a Franken-Nazi hybrid in the castle's basement laboratory as the boss of this level. After defeating it Indy finds the second piece of the Mirror of Dreams but is knocked unconscious by sleeping gas. Before he goes down completely, Indy sees the person responsible: A scarred and half-blind, yet very much alive, Von Beck. Indy wakes up in a cell in Istanbul, Turkey. While awaiting torture, Jones is freed by Mei-Ying who is revealed as the mysterious ninja, and who was following him in secret. Indy makes his way to a ruined mosque where S.S. troops are excavating the subterranean palace of Belisarius . While contending with the Nazis and their hired Turkish mercenaries, Jones battles and defeats a Kraken and gets the final piece of the Mirror of Dreams. Mei-Ying warns Indy, "The man you know as Marshall Kai is not who he appears to be. Kai is not just on official in the government, he's also the head of the Black Dragon Triad." She goes on to explain that Kai had formed an alliance with Von Beck and the Nazis but plans to double-cross them after and so enlisted the aid of Indiana Jones whom he thought could find the Mirror pieces sooner than Von Beck could. Mei-Ying and Indy next head off to Hong Kong and a meeting with a smuggler to take them to Marshall Kai's fortress. While at the Golden Lotus Opera House, Mei-Ying and Indy wait for the smuggler, a man named Wu Han, a character also in the film Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom . Mei-Ying senses something is wrong and heads out to investigate. Indy glances at another box seat and sees Marshall Kai and his bodyguards, the Feng twins, who gesture threateningly. Suddenly Mei-Ying is attacked and captured by Triad thugs and Indy fights his way out of the opera house. On the streets of Hong Kong, Indy sees Mei-Ying in a black sedan getting taken away. A man pulling a Rickshaw introduces himself as Wu Han, and orders Indy to get on the rickshaw. As they move, Triad thugs in motorcycles and cars attack them. Indy fends them off with a Thompson machine gun and the two arrive at the docks which was where the sedan carrying Mei-Ying was headed. Indy and Wu Han see Mei-Ying and Von Beck board a Nazi submarine and the ship heads off. Indy and Wu Han follow them in a boat to Peng Lai Island in the East China Sea where Indy infiltrates a Nazi submarine base. After exploring the base, he overhears Marshall Kai and Von Beck discussing the situation with each other. Indy continues his explorations and finds that the only way to get to the other side of the island (and to Kai's fortress) is by way of gondolas. To get to the gondola stations he has to disguise himself as a Nazi and get special clearance from security to go through. Indy quickly realizes that the Nazi's are aware of his presence despite the disguise, but he still manages to hitch a ride on one of the gondolas. During the ride he's attacked by German Messerschmits , which he fends off with a mounted-machine gun. After a furious gun-battle he arrives at the gates of the Black Dragon Fortress 5,000 feet above sea level. He stealthily makes his way through, overpowering the guards, and enters a special room within the fortress. Peeking around a corner, Indy sees Kai talking to Mei-Ying, bound and gagged in a cage. Kai leaves the room and Indy moves in to free Mei-Ying. The Feng Twins appear and pull out two bladed hand-fans. Indy fights and defeats the twins and picks the lock on Mei-Ying's cage despite her warning against it. During the picking the floor gives way and Indy falls through a trap door. After sliding through a deep tunnel, Indy lands in an underground temple in the mountain. There he's attacked by the bodies of dead Triad warriors possessed by evil spirits. Indy overcomes several booby-traps and acquires the Pa Cheng or the Dragon's Claw, a mystical weapon designed to destroy evil spirits. He fights his way through the temple until he enters the sacrificial chamber and sees Kai reciting a chant at a chained Mei-Ying. Kai puts the pieces of the Mirror together but his sacrifice is cut off by Indy's arrival. The temple area collapses and Kai and his men run out of the room, dropping the Mirror. Mei-Ying suddenly turns into a demon and attacks Jones. Indy fights her using the Pa Cheng and destroys the demon possessing her, freeing Mei-Ying. Grabbing the Mirror, the two run out of the Temple and return to Wu Han who then takes them to Xian , China where the Emperor's Tomb is located. Indy and Mei-Ying enter the tomb and find it crawling with Triads and evil spirits. There are unseen booby traps which are illuminated by the Mirror of Dreams. During their journey, Indy gets separated from Mei-Ying and ends up in a terra-cotta maze. Once there, Indy hears a familiar voice over a loudspeaker. Suddenly the area quakes and a driller tank appears, driven by the nefarious Von Beck. As the tank pursues Indy through the maze which he must traverse using a series of whip swings over seemingly bottomless chasms, he slides down a ramp and whipswings over a large pit. Indy looks back and sees Von Beck and the tank drop off the edge and fall into the pit where all that is heard are screams as Von Beck plummets endlessly to his death. Moving on, Indy sees a portal. He runs into it...and finds himself in an underground cavern. Once again being harassed by evil spirits, Indy deals with them and the terra cotta warriors they possess and finally gains entrance to the Black Pagoda, and finds the body of Qin Shi Huangdi. Remarking about the well-preserved corpse, Jones takes the Heart of the Dragon from the emperor's mouth and the corpse comes to life. The Emperor laughs evily and starts invoking a spell. Indy runs out of the crypt, pearl in hand, but drops it because he cannot control its power. Kai appears, takes it, and brings some more terra-cotta statues to life that attack Indy. Mei-Ying comes to rescue Indy and together they confront Kai. Kai imprisons Mei-Ying and is seen levitating through the air, surrounding himself with a force field. A large dragon comes out at Kai's command and Indy is forced to dodge both Kai and the dragon's attacks. Indy, with the Pa Cheng, makes his way to several small pagodas and charges his weapon with different elemental energies, fire, water, earth, air, and chaos. He then throws the charged weapon at Kai breaking through his force-field and causing him to drop the Heart. As he helps Mei-Ying, Indy watches as Kai is attacked by spirits who believe him to be the former emperor. Indy and Mei-Ying run back into the portal while Kai is destroyed by the dragon. Back at the opera house in Hong Kong, Mei-Ying congratulates Indy but tells him that she still has work to do dismantling the Triad. Indy passionately kisses her, causing her to say that she can wait a day before resuming her work while Indy slips his arm around her waist and they begin to walk away. Wu Han reminds Indy that they have a job to find the remains of Nurhachi for Lao Che (thus the opening of ''Temple of Doom''), to which Indy replies that Lao Che can wait. EXTERNAL LINKS
