Index Stock was the first stock photo agency to begin storing and distributing images electronically. It started scanning its collection in 1992 and launched its first E-commerce site, Photos To Go, in 1994. The agency now has more than one million images available online making it one of the largest and most complete collections of commercially available images in the world. It's growing library of digitized, stored and categorized images are Model-released , property-released, and cleared for on-line commerce. Inde Stock licenses reproduction rights to its library through it's brands Index Stock Imagery and Index Open (to advertisers, designers, large corporations, magazines, and book publishers) and Photos To Go and Photos To Go Unlimited (to small business and home business users of images). Index Stock has survived and thrived during a decade marked by consolidation and acquisitions by large corporations with vast financial resources.
