Welcome to the index of political parties, an alphabetical list of (mainly) present-day Political Parties listed in the List Of Political Parties . A '''political party''' is defined here as a Political organization subscribing to a certain Ideology or formed around very special issues with the aim to participate in power, usually by participating in Election s. (''see Political Party for a more comprehensive discussion.'')
Only parties active on a National level which have a relevant number of support (e.g. more than 1 % at the last national elections) or parliamentary representation are included. In non-democratic societies also other parties that seem to have support are included. Local and regional parties are only included when they are also active on a national level. Generally defunct parties and micro-parties are not included. Afghanistan , Congo (Kinshasa) , Côte D'Ivoire , Kyrgyzstan , Somalia , and Ukraine are not (completely) included due the unclear political situation. Bahrain and Iran are not yet included due to a lack of information. Haiti will be included after the next elections. The parties operating as Sublema s of the Broad Front Progressive Encounter-New Majority in Uruguay are not listed.
