Created by Michael Burdick, ''Hunting For Bambi'' is a series of Videos that center around a fictional competition to hunt semi-naked women with Paintball Guns in the deserts of Las Vegas . The central idea of the program is that hunters (men) pay $5000 to $10,000 for the privilege to hunt " Bambi s" (women wearing nothing but a thong and tennis shoes), by picking them off with Paintballs powerful enough to draw blood. The Bambis themselves have a reason to participate: the chance to win $2,500 if they avoid getting hit and $1000 even if they do. The truth is that the entire production, which many have assumed to be a Reality Show , has been proven to be a Hoax . The hunts are staged, Paintball hits are carefully planned, and the hunters actually work for Burdick. This hasn't stopped it from becoming a profitable Franchise with thousands of Videos sold and Merchandising lines planned for the future including (according to the Hunting For Bambi Web Site ) a clothing line and Video Games . It also hasn't stopped the series from getting worldwide coverage by the Media , with Jay Leno , David Letterman , Howard Stern , Fox , CNN , MSNBC , ABC , CBS , NBC and the BBC providing news of the show.
