Banu Khalid were the legitimate rulers of the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. They treated Shiites who came from Iranian controlled Bahrain, fairly well. Banu Khalid were noble nomads men whom other Bedouin called them protectors of the Habara eggs (Type of pigeon) that were hunted indiscriminately. They ruled the Eastern Province and controlled Nejd for more then three hundred years prior the arrival of the Al-Saud family.Only an internal war civil war tore the trip apart. Ibn Arair the last Emir of Banu Khalid died soon after a civil war started between the sons on one side and their uncle and his sons on the other side in the early 1800. They also controlled Kuwait for about a century. |
