The Unicameral House of Assembly serves as ''' Saint Vincent And The Grenadines '''' legislative body. The House has a total of 21 members. Fifteen are chosen directly through elections in single seat Constituencies using the simple majority ( First-past-the-post ) system. The remaining six, known as Senators, are appointed by the Governor-general - four representing the government and two from the opposition. The most recent House of Assembly Elections were held on 7 December 2005 . The incumbent Unity Labour Party (ULP) was returned to office winning 12 out of 15 seats. The New Democratic Party (NDP) won the remaining three seats. |
