Information About

Hockey Arena

INTRODUCTION

Hockey Arena is an online hockey manager, where you lead your own team. You fight to promote to the 1st League and you represent your country in the World League. You have the chance to win the election, become a national team manager and play with the national team on the World Championship. Your opponent is not a computer with artificial intelligence, as in other games, but thousands of other people (from more than 40 countries). The game tries to simulate the real process of hockey seasons: teams can promote or demote, new players come to the team from junior academies, the players get older and their abilities, influenced by the age, are decreasing. New countries are created on a regular basis and with the growing diversity of the manager community, translation of the game to new languages takes place.
And the most important thing:

Hockey Arena is absolutely free of charge...

MANAGEMENT DECISIONS

As the manager of your hockey club, you can be very active in managing your team. HA is different from a Fantasy Sports game because you control every aspect of your team which can influence results.

It all begins however with the personnel you put out their each game. As manager you must manage player salaries within your overall teams economy. Your scouts will give you a rough idea of what to charge for ticket sales for a game which provide a valuable source of revenue. Each team has its own fan club as well. For every member of this fan club your team will receive $5100, weekly. Fan club size will increase if your team wins, so if your team is in a winning season fans will pile on the bandwagon and your weekly sum of money from you fan club as "sponsor" money will shoot up.

Instead of having direct trades like the NHL, players are transferred through the Market. Players are bought and sold on the market for cash that will come out of your teams finances. Many people wish that trades would be allowed, but by purchasing and selling players in a market you are in fact getting the best/most fair value that you could get.

Stadium infastructure is also an important part of management. There are 6 areas within this realm, when you get assigned a team these start at 15% and can increast to 100%:
# Training Area -- how fast your players train daily
# Regeneration Area -- how fast your players recover from training or playing (higher levels allow them to train at higher levels as well)
# Youth School -- Every two weeks depending on how big your YS is you will get players randomly generated. If they stink you can try to sell them if not you can find a gem.
# Cheerleading -- Give you a home team advantage
# Scouting -- Allow you to see more accurate values for ticket prices and a players Quality and Potential
# Marketing -- Helps you sell merchandise for star players (only buy merc. if you have a player with a yellow star), and they positively affect fan club size.
