''Hermit of Mink Hollow'' is Todd Rundgren 's eighth solo Album , released in 1978 . Reminiscent of the artist's more Pop-oriented records (though less Eccentric than, say, 1972 's Something/Anything? ), ''Mink Hollow'' finds Rundgren coming to terms with heartbreak as well as explicitly voicing his deep-felt Humanitarian concerns. Working again in One-man-band mode, it remains one of his most popular albums.

Mink Hollow refers to a valley, and the road that runs through it, in Woodstock, NY .
