Information AboutHealth And Social Care Information Centre |
|
It was created on 1 April 2005 to take over the routine collection and publication of health and social care statistics formerly undertaken by the Department Of Health (DH) and the NHS Information Authority . Most of its staff are former DH staff, but all staff are now classified as NHS employees rather than civil servants. Thus its creation causes a drop in the number of civil servants and an increase in the number of NHS employees. The 'change manager' overseeing its set-up was John Fox , previously Director of Statistics at DH. Its first chief executive is Denise Lievesley , from July 2005, and John Fox has become Head of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement. The headquarters was initially in the DH building Quarry House , Leeds, but Leeds-based staff have moved to 1 Trevelyan Square . The London offices are initially in the DH building Skipton House . It is intended to move out of Skipton House during 2006 , to emphasise the independence of the Information Centre from DH. It is likely that many posts will move from London to Leeds. |
