They were commonly referred to as blue trains due to their deep blue colour, with only a yellow band about halfway up the body. Royal blue and yellow were common colours for the Victorian Railways rolling stock. Earlier trains had fully manual sliding doors and a more traditional vinyl sprung seat. Later trains had power closing doors and individual vinyl foam type cushons on an integraged plastic frame. With exception to the last few carriages built, and the Harris trains that were refurbished, all Harris trains contained Asbestos insulation. The first sets contained Blue Asbestos , and the later sets contained White Asbestos . A full set was of seven carriages in a M-T-M-M-T-T-M combination. |
