Harriet Sansom Harris




Harriet Sansom Harris (born January 8 , 1955 ), is an Actress born in Fort Worth, Texas . Harris started acting as a youngster and attended New York's famed Juilliard School. After graduation from Juilliard's Drama Division, she joined John Houseman 's touring repertory company The Acting Company , where she stayed for three years. During this time, she performed in productions of Shakespeare's '' King Lear '' and '' Romeo And Juliet '', the classic '' Antigone '', and alongside Frances Conroy in Bertolt Brecht's '' Mother Courage And Her Children ''. A successful Broadway career soon followed. Harris's breakthrough stage performance came in the original cast of Paul Rudnick's ''Jeffrey'', where she appeared as the sole female cast member. Her work in ''Jeffrey'' led to numerous television guest appearances, including a recurring role on the TV series '' Frasier '' as Frasier's conniving agent Bebe Glazer .

Harris currently has a role on the hit Dramedy '' Desperate Housewives '' as Felicia Tilman. Some of her other television credits include '' The Five Mrs. Buchanans '', '' Union Square '', and '' It's All Relative ''. Harris has frequently appeared in guest roles on several notable series, including '' Murphy Brown '', '' Ally McBeal '', '' Six Feet Under '', and '' Ellen ''. Among her most memorable guest appearances was her performance on '' The X-Files '' as Dr. Sally Hendricks and her "Eve" clones, from which the band Eve 6 derived its name.

Harris received a Tony Award in 2002 as a Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Mrs. Meers in '' Thoroughly Modern Millie .''

She will be appearing as Vera in the Kennedy Center's production of '' Mame '' in the summer of 2006.
