HISTORY Harrah was officially incorporated on January 23 , 1946 . GEOGRAPHY Harrah is located at 46°24'15" North, 120°32'35" West (46.404182, -120.542982). According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 0.8 Km&2 (0.3 Mi&2 ). 0.8 km&2 (0.3 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 542 people, 167 households, and 131 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 721.6/km&2 (1,887.0/mi&2). There were 179 housing units at an average density of 238.3/km&2 (623.2/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 40.59% White , 0.37% African American , 19.19% Native American , 0.37% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 33.03% from Other Races , and 6.46% from two or more races. 44.10% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 167 households out of which 48.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.7% were Married Couples living together, 12.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.0% were non-families. 18.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.25 and the average family size was 3.72. In the town the population was spread out with 38.0% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 106.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males. The median income for a household in the town was $36,875, and the median income for a family was $41,250. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $25,000 for females. The Per Capita Income for the town was $12,721. 19.8% of the population and 14.5% of families were below the Poverty Line . 29.0% of those under the age of 18 and 16.4% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
