Hard Attack is the heavy metal station of Sirius Satellite Radio . It plays all types of metal, from classic metal such as Black Sabbath , Iron Maiden , and Judas Priest , to thrash metal such as Testament , Overkill , and Kreator , to death metal such as Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel . It even plays modern nu-metal and metal-core bands from time to time. There are 3 specialty shows currently on Hard Attack. They are: "Beyond the Pit", which airs on the station from 12 to 1 AM Tuesdays through Sundays. This show is dedicated to playing death metal, black metal, and grindcore, the 3 most extreme forms of metal. It is hosted by Ian Christe, who is also the host of the show "Bloody Roots". Bands frequently played during this hour: Cannibal Corpse , Napalm Death , Mayhem , Venom , Obituary , Morbid Angel "Contact High", which airs Thursday nights at 9, and is replayed Sunday nights at midnight. This show is dedicated to playing doom, sludge, and stoner metal, as well as lots of "stoner rock" that arguably isn't metal. It is hosted by Bobby Black from the magazine , Crowbar , Clutch , Orange Goblin , Kyuss , Fu Manchu , Blue Cheer , Black Sabbath , Nebula , Green Jelly "Bloody Roots" is a show that airs Tuesday nights from 9 to 10, hosted by Ian Christe, the host of "Beyond the Pit" and is also the author of the heavy metal history book "Sounds of the Beast: The Headbanging History of Heavy Metal". Each week, a different topic of the history of metal is chosen. Sometimes the show focuses on the history of metal in a certain country, or on a certain type of metal. Currently those 3 shows are the only 3 specialty shows on Hard Attack, but there is talk of a prog metal specialty show coming soon, as well as a technical metal one. There are currently 6 DJs on Hard Attack: Jose- on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1 to 7 PM, and Thursdays from 7 to 9 PM and again from 10 PM to 1 AM Mario- on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 7 PM to 1 AM, Thursdays from 1 to 7 PM, Fridays from 7 AM to 1 PM, and on Sundays from 1 to 7 PM. Jen- on Wednesdays from 7 AM to 1 PM, and Sundays from 7 PM to 12 AM. Scott- on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 AM. Kal- on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 7 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 AM to 1 PM, Fridays from 7 PM to 1 AM, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM. Ian Christe- host of "Beyond the Pit" and "Bloody Roots", and on Mondays from 7 AM to 1 PM, Tuesdays from 7 PM to 1 AM, Fridays from 1 to 7 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 1 PM. Also there is Bobby Black, who is the host of "Contact High". He only appears on that station for that show. |
