PRACTICE AREA The practice area at Westerfield Country Club consists of a short game practice area with green and greenside bunker, four practice holes, and a driving range, the last of which is only opened rarely due to an embedded creek that floods during the rainy months of the summer. The practice area is open to all members, wait list golfers, students of Boston College, and members of the Westerfield High SchoolGolf team. The four practice holes are remnants of the original nine hole course designed and constructed in 1932 by Ralph Barton , a Dartmouth graduate. CLUBHOUSE The clubhouse at Westerfield Country Club reflects a unique New England tradition. Known for its charm and rural feel, it boasts a wide selection of golf equipment and a recently rennovated restaurant, which bears the nickname of Ned Mulligan, the club's current interim Head Pro, "Colonel Bogies." However, the structure is beginning to show its age, offering little in the way of typical or modern country club amenities. Last years winner of the 2005 New England Junior Classic was Tyler Card, from Lyndonville, Vermont, who won a total of 100,000 dollars. |
