''Halloween 9'' is the ninth installment of the '' Halloween '' film series. The current title, is ''Halloween: Retribution''.

Currently in pre-production, the completion had been hampered by the death of the franchise's long-running executive producer, Moustapha Akkad , in the 2005 Amman Bombings . The film has a tentative release date of August 2006 . Dante Tomaselli is rumored to direct.

Rumor has it that ''Halloween: Retribution'' could take place immediately after ''''.

  • Rumoured titles include ''Halloween: Vengeance'', ''Halloween: Bloodline'' and ''Halloween: Asylum''.

  • The official website held a contest where the winner was awarded a role in the film. The winner was announced to be Heather Bowen .

  • One early idea for the sequel involved a crossover and battle between Michael Myers and Pinhead from the Hellraiser series of movies and had a tentative title of ''Helloween''.

  • Oliver Stone was attached to the project before deciding to make World Trade Center .
