''Half-Life 2: Survivor'' is a mooted Arcade Game running on Taito 's Type X+ arcade system, based on the Science Fiction First-person Shooter Computer And Video Game , '' Half-Life 2 ''. An exact release date is currently unknown, with various sources reporting dates ranging either between Spring to Winter 2006 .

CONTENT

The game uses content common to the Xbox and PC releases - although the available screenshots and the inherent "action" nature of arcade games suggest that it will focus on the visceral "set-pieces" that characterised the original game. Screenshots show scenes from the Ravenholm and Water Hazard levels, as well as an unfamiliar section of City 17 adjunct to the Combine Citadel .

GAMEPLAY

Players control their movement by a combination of Joystick s - one for each hand - and floor pedals. The console unit's screen is a HDTV widescreen Liquid Crystal Display - the action unfolding from a traditional First-person Shooter perspective. Three gameplay modes are currently planned - a ''Story'' mode, which aproximates the events of the original game; a co-operative ''Mission'' mode, which forces networked players to work toward a goal; and ''Battle'' mode, which parallels the deathmatch content of the original game. Up to eight players - either local players or individuals in other networked arcades - can particpate in the ''Battle'' and ''Mission'' modes.
