GEOGRAPHY Haileyville is located at 34°51'14" North, 95°34'44" West (34.853929, -95.578778). According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 2.6 Km&2 (1.0 Mi&2 ). 2.6 km&2 (1.0 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 891 people, 375 households, and 253 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 337.3/km&2 (872.8/mi&2). There were 452 housing units at an average density of 171.1/km&2 (442.8/mi&2). The racial makeup of the city was 69.81% White , 0.67% African American , 21.89% Native American , 0.34% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.56% from Other Races , and 6.73% from two or more races. 2.24% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 375 households out of which 29.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.4% were Married Couples living together, 13.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.3% were non-families. 30.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.96. In the city the population was spread out with 26.4% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.7 males. The median income for a household in the city was $26,833, and the median income for a family was $29,600. Males had a median income of $29,688 versus $22,500 for females.
