Guildford Grammar (Senior) School is a private school in Australia , on the banks of the Swan River . Founded in 1896 , it is one of the oldest independent boys' schools in the state of Western Australia . Guildford Grammar is located at East Guildford near Midland , and is fifteen Kilometre s from Perth .

Guildford Grammar has a rich history and is endowed with a very professional archive that maintains excellent record of the school history.

It has a primary school - Guildford Grammar Preparatory School and is headed by Craig Wheatley.

Closely modelled on England's Public Schools , it is a founding member of Western Australia's Public Schools Association (PSA). The school covers K-12 , catering to Kindergarten , Primary and Secondary education, and accepts Boarders .

Boys from landowning and farming families were well-represented in the student body in the past, whereas in recent decades wealthier families from overseas and different social groups are now more typical.

The present headmaster of Guildford Grammar School is Mr Robert Zordan.

As of 2006, there are approximately 600 students in the senior school.

From 2005 to 2006, Guildford Grammar School is going through a new "Redevelopment Phase". This include new grounds for the school, new tennis courts, a new main entrance and a major upgrade to the old parking facility known as the DLD. This project is costing approximately 5 million Australian Dollars. The main partners from the school involved in this redevelopment are Rajdeep Singh, Angus Terry and Garth Wilkinson.
