Some of the most important early hip-hop groups in Greece were Terror-X-Crew (members: Artemis, Efthimis, DJ ALX), FFC (members: Rithmodamastis, DJ Everlast) and Active Member who created Low-Bap , a special greek hip-hop breed that mixed slow hip-hop beats and used more physical instruments like the guitar. This differentiation that BD Foxmoor started, caused a lot of hate among the greek hip-hop fans. During the years of 1995-2000, the situation in Greece was like the fight between East Coast and West Coast in USA. Things got even worse when the Battle rap era in Greece begun with the group ZN that started dissing Active Member and other fake MCs. ZN had 5 members but it was not your typical hip-hop group with strong relationships between the members. They followed the Wu-Tang model: release a dope first album as a group and then continue each one alone releasing solos. Their one and only album as a group was "The first Volume" in 1997 and every hip-hop fan in Greece still waits for the "Second Volume". Yet, the group had serious fights and they didn't release a second album as a group. They soon became famous for their extreme lyrics using explicit language and drug references, especially weed. Commercial hip-hop in Greece has also its representatives: Goin' Through and Hmiz . Goin' Through has a massive success after their last album La Sagrada Familia which was became golden in 2006 with the help of a special reprint with 3 more remixes. They have also established a powerful hip-hop Label, Family where many hip-hop groups and MCs are signed, such as Taraxias , Thirio, NEBMA , Ominus & DJ S . Hmiz on the other hand lost most of their publicity after 2001, but they will always be credited as one of the groups that made hip-hop so popular in Greece using catchy funny lyrics. Terror-X-Crew are not together as a group anymore, but the 2 MCs ( Artemis & Efthimis ) are still releasing albums without DJ ALX who is lost in his projects with Ihokratoria, his label that had too many problems during the early '00s Album covers of the most influencial greek hip-hop CDs: Terror-X-Crew - TXC Terror-X-Crew - Gefsi tu menus (The taste of Wrath) Terror-X-Crew - Polis Ealo (The city has awaken) FFC - Se ali diastasi (In other dimension) Hmiz - 30 years of hits Pedi Thavma - Rima gia Hrima (Wonder Boy - Raps for money) Alfa Gama - Agnostofovia (Fear of the unknown) Midenistis - Megalos Iroas (Big Hero) The new breed of Greek hip-hop artists like Stereo Mike , Rodes, NTP, Isvoleas and Stixima (means Bet) are trying to make a difference. A new underground hip-hop scene is also very active in Greece, represented mainly by Vita Pis , Sifu VERSUS , Aliti Grifi and Diveno (of 031) which is a successful producer in Greece and UK.
