The Great Alaska Shootout is an annual College Basketball tournament in Anchorage, Alaska that features colleges from all over the United States . The University Of Alaska Anchorage hosts the tournament every Thanksgiving. Under NCAA rules teams are normally limited to 27 regular season games, however games played in Alaska (or Hawaii) do not count against this limit, but do count in the regular season records of the teams. Thus participating teams may earn "extra" victories by playing in this tournament. Home games are played at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage. EXTERNAL LINKS |
