It rises in the eastern Willapa Hills in southwestern Pacific County . It flows generally southwest across western Wahkiakum County , past the town of Grays River . It enters the Columbia from the north approximately 5 mi (8 km) southwest of Grays River in the broad portion of its Tidal Estuary approximately 15 mi (24 km) upstream from its mouth. The river is a popular destination for Whitewater Rafting and Kayak ing. Grays River is also the name of a small river in New Zealand . |
