Post-rock group
Mogwai , released in
2005 . The album is a compilation of live performances recorded between the years of 1996 and 2003 for the
BBC Radio . Following the death of
John Peel in
2004 , Mogwai decided to dedicate this album to him, one of the band's greatest champions, and for whose show many of the tracks were recorded. The collection might serve sufficiently as a greatest hits album, but cannot, mainly because of the omission of a few well loved tracks like "Christmas Steps" and "Mogwai Fear Satan". The live versions of these songs are different enough to warrant separate listening, especially "R U Still in 2 It" which has been changed in this case to just a beautifully expanded version of the opening theme.
