Information About

Good Guy Doll

A Good Guy doll is a fictional Doll which makes an appearance in the horror film series ''Child's Play'' . The Good Guy was modeled after a television show of the same name in which Andy Barclay , the victim of Chucky , would watch as a child.

In the first ''Child's Play'' movie, serial killer Charles Lee Ray is mortally wounded by an officer in pursuit. Ray is forced to hide in a toy store and decides to pass his soul into a doll to keep from dying and going to Hell. When he succeeds, the doll is found by a Peddler and sold to Andy Barclay's mother, who in turn gives the doll to her child. Chucky reveals himself to Andy and kills the Babysitter , and soon everyone suspects Andy is the one who did it. Later on in the film, Chucky is threatened by Andy's mother, and he attacks her and escapes with her in pursuit.

Good Guy dolls are built by a company called "Play Pals Toys", featured in the second movie, ''Child's Play 2'' . The Good Guy dolls are characterized by an individual name and three sentences:

  • "Hi, I'm (Name)!"

  • "Hey, wanna play?"

  • "I like to be hugged"

These sentences can be heard in the beginning of ''Child's Play 3'' by two Good Guy dolls sharing dialogue to scare Sullivan, the president of Play Pals.

Good Guy dolls are all identical in appearance, donning red and white shoes, blue overalls with construction helmets and hammers drawn on them, rainbow shirts underneath the overalls, a large head with freckles on the face, blue eyes and red hair. Chucky is the only Good Guy doll whose mouth actually opens to expose real teeth and a tongue (because he is turning human). They are based off the real doll, My Buddy .
