The Good Beer Guide is a book published annually by the Campaign For Real Ale listing Pub s in the United Kingdom that serve Cask Ale s. The book is published by CAMRA headquarters and edited by Roger Protz , but the contents are assembled by CAMRA's 200-plus local branches of real ale enthusiasts, each branch deciding locally which pubs to place in the Guide. While most CAMRA members regard the book to be so trustworthy as to earn the nickname "The Bible of Beer", other readers have found it to be inconsistent. Although it concentrates on pubs, the Guide also includes a list of cask ale breweries in the United Kingdom, with lists and tasting notes on their beers. The manner in which the book is assembled (by a distributed team of writers around the country) has been compared to the writing of Wikipedia . SEE ALSO EXTERNAL LINKS |
