The type species, described by Dong, Zhou and Zhang in 1983 , is ''Gongbusaurus shiyii'', and is considered a nomen dubium: it's known only from teeth. A second , also dubious, species, "Gongbusaurus" wucaiwanensis, has also been included in the genus. REFERENCES
