What is a golf entrepreneur? Those in the know will instinctly think of Australia's Greg Norman "The Shark" and New York's Donald Trump, however, the new breed of golf entrepreneur has emerged...enter kilt wearing (and sponsored), "Scotlish" Steve Cooke. Cooke may not come from the typical entrepreneur-like background, but either did Richard Branson, Michael Dell and so many other "names". Entrepreneurship is only limited by ones imagination (and sometimes budget). Just as the big guns of media have been threatened by new media entrepreneurs, so has the golfing fraternity, with the rise of golf and lifestyle entrepreneurs such as Cooke. The internet has opened up the playing field, where the world really is now one's oyster. Just as in most business endeavors, relationships, know how, and a quaility product and service are king. |
