Global Arena is a sports facility in Munakata city, Fukuoka Prefecture , Kyushu , Japan . It was started by the President of the Sanix company and includes various sports grounds for Rugby Union , Soccer , Tennis etc. Also there are indoor facilities for sports such as Kendo , Judo and tennis. The Global Stadium used mainly for rugby has a capacity of 10,000 spectators and is the home ground of played Sanix here when they toured Japan under Buck Shelford . SANIX WORLD RUGBY YOUTH TOURNAMENT The Global Arena is the venue for the annual international high schools tournament in Golden Week between eight top Japanese and eight top foreign teams from various countries. The first one was held in 2000. The 2006 competition is from April 29th to May 5, 2006. (May 1st is the day off.) Participating teams (2006) Christchurch Boys High School (NZ), Ivybridge Community College (England), Marist College (Australia), Lycee Bellevue (France), Monument High School (South Africa), Pai Chai High School (Korea), Tonga College (Tonga), Christian Brothers College (Ireland) and the following Japanese teams: Nagasaki Kita H.S., Toin Gakuen H.S., Saga Technical H.S., Tokai University Gyosei H.S., Oita Maizuru H.S., Osaka Institute of Technology H.S., Higashi Fukuoka H.S., Fushimi Technical H.S. Past Champions and Runners-up 2005 Christchurch Boys H.S. (New Zealand), The Southport School (Australia) 2004 Rotorua Boys H.S. (New Zealand), Higashi Fukuoka H.S. (Japan) 2003 Rotorua Boys H.S.
