Gin Drinkers Bay




The bay was Reclaimed in 1960s and became Kwai Fong and Kwai Hing . At the month of the bay stood Tsing Chau .

The bay was a Harbour for Tanka fishing Junk s. They relocated to Tsing Yi Tong and Mun Tsai Tong of Tsing Yi Island before the commencement of reclamation.

''Lap Sap'' (垃圾) means rubbish in Chinese. It was once a dumping area of rubbish. It is supposed that there is Gin Drinkers Bay Park or Kwai Chung Park on the dumping near Tsing Chau and it remains closed for unsafe level of Landfill Gas produced deep in the dumping even covered with hills of earth.

Gin Drinkers Bay is famous for Gin Drinkers Line , a defence line against Japanese Invasion in 1941 .
