A ghost car generally appears as a grey, Translucent or flashing version of the Vehicle used to set the record, in order to distinguish it from more solid competitors. As ghost cars are based on previously-recorded times, they are not capable of taking dynamic action against the player, such as blocking them or taking evasive action. Ghost cars are also intangible, in that the player is able to move or clip into the ghost, thus giving skilled players the ability to match a ghost's racing line.
