The General College Truth Movement (GCTM) is not formally affiliated with the General College . General College served the majority of first-generation, low-income, disabled, and students of color who came into the University Of Minnesota . At 10:00am on Wednesday May 4, 2005, GCTM members held a peaceful sit-in to oppose the closing of the General College in the University Of Minnesota President's office, Morrill Hall. Nine people were arrested. Two peaceful protesters were pepper-sprayed by University Police. The decision to close the College was made by a 11-1 vote of the University of Minnesota Regents on June 10, 2005. EXTERNAL LINKS |
