''Garfield: A Big Fat Hairy Deal'' is a 1987 Computer Game for the ZX Spectrum and the Commodore 64 , based on the Comic Strip '' Garfield ''. The game is an Arcade Adventure with Platform elements, starring Garfield , who has to rescue his girlfriend Arlene from the cat pound. Garfield starts his quest in Jon's house, and has to venture through streets, dark alleys, and even Sewer s to find Arlene. Various objects are littered along the way, and Garfield meets characters like Odie, Nermal, and even giant Rat s, that can help or hinder his quest. Each room fills one screen, and Garfield can progress into the next room by walking to the edge of the screen. Items can be collected by walking over them, but Garfield can only carry one item at a time, so his current item is left in the new item's place. The background graphics are only in black and white but the Sprite s show a little color. |
