Information About

Future Guy

Future Guy's name, motives, and even his species are completely unknown (though his outline suggests Human, Betazoid , or Romulan ). Apparently a native of the 29th century (according to Crewman Daniels ), he cannot actually travel in time himself, but must use a Holographic chamber in which he projects his image backwards in time. He uses this device to communicate with Silik , his contact in the Suliban Cabal, and thereby relay orders to the Cabal at large.

Occasionally, Future Guy has even provided assistance to humanity; it was he who alerted Captain Jonathan Archer to the threat of the Xindi who were attempting to destroy Earth. It is likely that without this assistance, Earth would soon have been obliterated, as it was Future Guy who provided Archer with the Xindi's race name and even their location (in the Delphic Expanse ). Archer, who could not believe that this alien would ever help Earth, asked why he should ever believe anything Future Guy says; however, the only reply was "You have no choice but to believe me."

Future Guy's ultimate motives are a complete mystery to all. In his first appearance, in Broken Bow , he was attempting to interfere in Klingon politics. Through his contacts with the Suliban, Future Guy also led a faction in the Temporal Cold War . His real identity was never revealed in the entire course of the series, although his actions do not appear to be part of an alternate timeline; for whatever reasons, Future Guy seemed to be part of the established flow of history.

On, '' The Dead Zone '' a character named Christopher Wey also is also nicknamed Future Guy.
