Fruitopia is a fruit flavoured, non-carbonated drink introduced by The Coca-Cola Company in 1994 and targeted at teens and young adults. The most common flavor of this drink is "Strawberry Passion Awareness". This flavor is now available at most drink fountains as well as McDonald's as Coca-Cola has pushed this drink to market in many places. After Fruitopia was introduced in the United States, TIME Magazine named it one of the Top 10 New Products of 1994. This product does not seem to be marketed by Minute Maid or Coca-Cola any longer. Fruitopia juice is available in the United States and Canada , and has recently been released into Australia . The ingredients in Canadian and US Fruitopia drinks are not the same and they also taste differently; the US version has chemicals/ Preservatives added: ;US Ingredients: Water; High Fructose Corn Syrup and/or Sucrose ; orange, tangerine and grapefruit juices from concentrate; Citric Acid ; natural flavors; sodium polyphosphates; Ascorbic Acid ; Sodium Benzoate , Potassium Sorbate , and EDTA (to protect taste); cochineal and tumeric (natural extracts added for color); Acacia ; Yellow 5 ; glycerol ester of wood rosin; coconut oil. ;Canada Ingredients: Filtered water, fruit juices from concentrate (orange, tangerine and grapefruit), sugar/glucose-fructose, citric acid (controls tartness), natural flavour, ascorbic acid (vitamin c), cochineal extract (for colour), colour.
