Freelander: A model manufactured by the Land Rover company. A full time 4x4 on and off-road vehicle which saw the turn-around of fortunes that were eventually to save the marque. Originally Land Rover was part of the British Rover corporation. It became part of BMW in the 1990s when they purchased Rover before becomuing part of Ford 's PAG (Premier Automotive Group).
