CRIME

Frankston has been found to be the highest suburb on the Victoria Police list for criminal offences per postcode, and Frankston station is a renowned hive of criminal activity, particularly at night. Recent innovative local council attempts to curtail criminal activity at Frankston station include brighter lighting at night, and the constant broadcasting of classical music over a public announcement system, intended to discourage young people from being inclined to loiter at the station after hours. Despite the obvious crime element the station is generally quite safe for travellers.
