GEOGRAPHY Fox Chapel is located at 40°30'46" North, 79°53'35" West (40.512668, -79.892975). According to the United States Census Bureau , the borough has a total area of 20.3 Km&2 (7.8 Mi&2 ). 20.3 km&2 (7.8 mi&2) of it is land and 0.13% is water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 5,436 people, 1,875 households, and 1,599 families residing in the borough. The Population Density was 268.1/km&2 (693.9/mi&2). There were 1,942 housing units at an average density of 95.8/km&2 (247.9/mi&2). The racial makeup of the borough was 93.29% White , 0.55% African American , 0.02% Native American , 5.22% Asian , 0.04% Pacific Islander , 0.13% from Other Races , and 0.75% from two or more races. 0.68% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 1,875 households out of which 41.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 79.9% were Married Couples living together, 3.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.7% were non-families. 13.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.18. In the borough the population was spread out with 30.1% under the age of 18, 3.3% from 18 to 24, 18.1% from 25 to 44, 33.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.2 males. The median income for a household in the borough was $147,298, and the median income for a family was $191,378. Males had a median income of $100,000 versus $60,179 for females. The Per Capita Income for the borough was $80,610. 4.8% of the population and 3.8% of families were below the Poverty Line . 6.3% of those under the age of 18 and 4.8% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
