Fox is a Fictional Character in the '' Gargoyles '' television series. She is voiced by Laura San Giacomo , whose name does not appear in the credits of any episode she starred in. Originally named Janine Renard, the unsatisfied daughter of Halcyon Renard and his wife Anastasia, Fox refused her father's inheritance. Changing her name legally to "Fox", she met the budding young businessman David Xanatos , who recruited her into the mercenary team known as The Pack as its leader, and with whom she fell in love. After facing the Manhattan Clan and being sent to prison, she quit the Pack and publically acknowledged her relationship to Xanatos. Later in the same year, Fox and Xanatos were married, and she gave birth to a son, Alexander Fox Xanatos. However, soon after the birth the mythical Oberon came to take Alexander away, and she learned that her mother Anastasia was in fact Oberon's wife Titania, and that both Fox and her child possessed some amount of magical power through her. Nevertheless, a deal was proposed and agreed, allowing Fox to keep her child in Manhattan. In the episode "Eye of the Beholder", Fox suffered from a form of Lycanthropy brought on by wearing the Eye Of Odin , a powerful magical artifact that brings out a person's "inner nature", becoming a fearsome werefox at night. However, the side-effect was slowly burning her metabolism and draining her life-force. The transformation rips all her clothes. In an hallucinogenic daze, she attacked Elisa Maza , believing her to be Fox herself, in human form. Her reasons for doing this are unknown. The artifact was taken away at the end of the episode and she appeared to be cured. |
