The Fox-Body started as a 1978 Ford Fairmont. Since then a number of different Fords used the same basic chassis design. 1978-82 Ford Fairmont / Mercury Zephyr, 79-93 Ford Mustang, 79-86 Mercury Capri, 80-88 Ford T-Bird / Mercury Cougar, 81-82 Ford Granada / Mercury Monarch, 83-86 Ford LTD / Mercury Marquis, and 84-92 Lincoln Mark VII . Often parts will swap from one Fox-Body car to another. The most popular of the Fox-Body where the Mustang s due to their low price, simple lay out and the ease with which they can be modified and customized. The Fox Body Thunderbird s, especially the turbo coupes are also highly sought after for much the same reason. |
