One of the major drawcards of the centre is the entertainment precinct known as The Street. This precinct features a number of entertainment stores, book stores, cafes and a Village Cinemas . The centre has plans for further future development, including cinema extensions, the construction of more specialty stores and a David Jones . Fountain Gate is often referenced as the favourite shopping centre of the main characters of the ABC-TV sitcom '' Kath & Kim '', although the shopping scenes in the series are actually filmed at Southland Shopping Centre in Cheltenham .
