Tertius Coetzee was a policeman during the Apartheid era, and was responsible for the torture and death of Daniel Grootboom, a young freedom fighter. After being granted amnesty by the Truth And Reconciliation Commission , he travels to the West Coast fishing village of Pater Noster to visit Daniel's family and ask for their forgiveness.

Forgiveness was directed by Ian Gabriel and stars Arnold Vosloo, Zane Meas, Quanita Adams and Denise Newman.

It has won awards at both the Locarno International Film Festival and the Cape Town International Film Festival.
