Floyd Council




According to a 1969 interview, Floyd stated he had recorded 27 songs over his career, seven of them backing Blind Boy Fuller .

Floyd suffered a Stroke in the 1960s which partially paralyzed his throat muscles and slowed his motor skills but he apparently remained quite sharp in mind nevertheless.

Floyd moved to Sanford, North Carolina where he died of a Heart Attack in 1976.


DISCOGRAPHY


No records are available which exclusively feature Floyd's work. However, the CD "Carolina Blues" features six songs which he recorded. The series of Blind Boy Fuller's "Complete Recorded Works" contains many songs in which Floyd played guitar.


THE FLOYD IN PINK FLOYD


When Syd Barrett was forced to think of a new name for his band in 1965, he chose the name 'The Pink Floyd Sound', using the first names of Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.
