APPROVAL OF STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS

Flodida Environmental Regulation Commission (ERC)
Unpaid citizenry board tasked with weighing/balancing all factors that go into setting standards.


HISTORY

ERC is created under Section 20.255(7), Florida Statutes (F.S.).


COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP

Commission membership is comprised of "seven residents of this state appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate."


POWERS/DUTIES

Established in Section 403.804, F.S.
The ERC is the standard setting authority for the Department. The role of the ERC is to approve for adoption most standards relating to air pollution, water quality, and waste management.


MEETINGS

Commission meets on the last Thursday of the month in Tallahassee or other locations in FL.
