Her real name is Fred, she is the companion of "rubbish transvestite" Emily Howard (played by David Walliams ), and can be similarly described herself (arguably more so than Emily, in that — in addition to her Victorian accoutrements — (s)he has a thick moustache). Florence first began attempting (and failing) to fool the world with Emily at the start of the second series, broadcast in 2004 . In the final episode of series three, broadcast Christmas Eve, 2005 , Florence had seemingly given up the transvestite lifestyle after being caught by his wife wearing her wedding dress. He visited Emily for seemingly one last time, insisting he call him Fred. However, Emily quickly had Fred back as Florence, after tempting him with a new dress. |
