Florence is a town located in Codington County , South Dakota , USA . As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 299. GEOGRAPHY Florence is located at 45°3'14" North, 97°19'34" West (45.053952, -97.326023). According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 1.7 Km&2 (0.7 Mi&2 ). None of the area is covered with water. Florence has been assigned the ZIP Code 57235 and the FIPS Place Code 21820. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 299 people, 108 households, and 80 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 174.9/km&2 (453.3/mi&2).
