Information About

Fire Arrow

The Fire Arrow is a Chinese Gunpowder weapon, reported to be first used in the year of 1232 A.D. when the Chinese repelled the Mongolians, in the battle of Kai-Feng. It is not the first form of the Rocket , for a Greek named Archytas flew a wooden bird powered by steam, around 400 B.C. These fire arrows are said to be inaccurate -used only to impose psychological effects on the enemies. Basically, the fire arrow is a long, straight arrow made from bamboo with a rocket attached to it, launched on a stand of bamboo sticks. The accuracy of this weapon is affected by the straightness and length of the bamboo arrow; Forms of the fire arrow were introduced to, first, Korea, and, later, through Middle East to Europe.
