DIGITAL SWICHOVER The Ferryside relay is also unique becuase it became the first UK TV transmitter swichover to digital, turning of the old analogue TV signal. At the end of 2004 the relay was equipped to provide the four primary DTT multiplexes (Multiplex 1, 2, A and B) and after a three month period in which all local residents were given Freeview boxes three of the four analogue services from this site were switched off at midnight on 30th March 2005. (BBC2 analogue remains on due to the differing content of the BBC2W digital service.) TRANSMITTED SERVICES
